Dreamgirls (2006)
I had no desire at all to see Dreamgirls when it first came out. I think it was mostly because of the tile. Its a bad title. It really is. I also just found the whole idea of it entirely irritating.
Jennifer Hudson sounds friggin incredible. I can see why she won an Oscar. I don’t remember her sounding that good on American Idol.
Eddie Murphy was just plain awesome.
I liked this so much more then I ever thought I would. I thought it was just going to be cheesy. And while it was cheesy, it was also entertaining and sounded great.
I am not big fan of movie-musicals. Definitely the best one I’ve seen in a long, long time.
I must confess I bought the soundtrack. Yes, I am embarrassed.
This is not a movie with major plot twists, or even a major plot. But it did manage to keep my attention somehow, and not much has been doing that lately.

I find the whole idea of Beyonce kind of irritating.
But I've only heard good things about the movie.
@Rachel -- Oh I know! I was irritated by her too. In the whole scheme of the movie though, she wasn't so bad. Pleasantly surprised all around.
